Nefilim: In the Flesh

The Torah says:

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and
daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men, that they were fair. And they took
them wives, whomsoever they chose.
3 And YHWH said: My Spirit shall not abide in man forever. For that he also is flesh;
therefore shall his days be a hundred and twenty years.
4 The N’filim were on the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of
Elohim came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. The same
were the mighty men that were of old--the men of renown.
5 And YHWH saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every
imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil; continually.
6 And it repented YHWH that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His
heart.
7 And YHWH said: I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the earth:
both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and fowl of the air, for it repents Me that I have
made them.

Who were these “sons of Elohim”? The Book of Enoch tells us that these “sons of Elohim” were “angels” who had “left their first estate” (see 2Pt. 2:2-10; Jude 1:6-8)

1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters.
2 And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.'
3 And Shemikhazah, who was their leader, said unto them: 'I fear you will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.'
4 And they all answered him and said: 'Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.'
5 Then they all swore together and bound themselves by imprecations upon it.
6 And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Yared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by imprecations upon it.

Yeshua warned that the last days would be like the days of Noach:

37 And as it was in the days of Noach, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For as they were in the days that were before the flood--eating and drinking, marrying
and giving in marriage, until the day that Noach entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came and took them all away--so will be the coming of
the Son of Man.
(Mt. 24:37-39 - HRV).

And this is a major theme of the Book of Enoch. Enoch forewarns of the coming judgment of the flood, and parallels this with the judgment of the last days. In the last days then Nefilim would return to the earth. Fallen angels would once again take human form and dwell among us:

And in those days the angels shall return
And hurl themselves to the east upon the Parthians and Medes:
They shall stir up the kings, so that a spirit of unrest shall come upon them,
And they shall rouse them from their thrones,
That they may break forth as lions from their lairs,
And as hungry wolves among their flocks.
(1Enoch 56:5 – Trimm Translation)

When do the Nefilim return? Shemikhazah and "all his associates" were bound fast "for seventy generations" until "the judgment that is forever is consummated" (1En. 9:11-12) (compare Y'hudah 1:6 & 2Kefa 2:2-10).

Now if one counts the generations from Enoch to Yeshua one finds there were sixty-nine generations (Luke 3:23-37). So the seventy generations ended one generation after the life of Yeshua. This brings us to an interesting statement made by the Nazarene writer Hegesippus around 185 C.E. as he recounted the beginning of the apostasy:

Up to that period the Assembly had remained like a virgin pure and uncorrupted: for, if there were any persons who were disposed to tamper with the wholesome rule of the proclaiming of salvation, they still lurked in some dark place of concealment or other. But, when the sacred band of Emissaries had in various ways closed their lives, and that generation of men to whom it had been vouchsafed to listen to the godlike Wisdom with their own ears had passed away, then did the confederacy of godless error take its rise through the treachery of false teachers, who, seeing that none of the emissaries any longer survived, at length attempted with bare and uplifted head to oppose the proclaiming of the truth by proclaiming "knowledge falsely so called."

The generation, which followed the life of Yeshua and his emissaries, was the generation in which Shemikhazah and his associates were to be released. And this was the very generation in which false teachers began with bare and uplifted head to oppose the proclaiming of the truth, the very generation in which the apostasy began.

At their first appearance, the Nefilim placed themselves in positions of power. This can be shown by comparing 1Enoch 6 with Jasher 4:18:



And their judges and their rulers went to the daughters of men
and took their wives by force from their husbands
according to their choice, and the sons of men in those days
took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field
and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals
of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke
YHWH; and Elohim saw the whole earth and it was corrupt,
for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon earth, all men and
all animals.

Using these positions of leadership they taught men how to make weapons and war (1En. 8:1) they taught them witchcraft (1En. 7:1) they taught genetic engineering between species (Jasher 4:18) and new medications (1En. 7:1; 8:2) it is tempting to also include the birth control drug mentioned in Jasher (Jasher 2:17-22) as one of their innovations. They also taught abortion “the smiting of the embryo in the womb that it may pass away” (1Enoch 69:12).

When they return, they no doubt again place themselves into positions as judges and rulers. They will again bring advanced technologies of war, genetic engineering, drugs and abortion. The Book of Enoch even prophecies that in the last days:

women shall become pregnant and abort their babies
and cast them out from their midst"

You may recall the Book of Enoch says about the return of the Nefilim:

And in those days the angels shall return

“the Partheans and the Medes” refers to the nation known today as “Iran”. In the last days Enoch tells us the Nefilim would “stir up kings”. They brought advanced weapons to the ancients (1Enoch 8:1) and today the “Partheans and the Medes” are working toward nuclear weapons.

There are Nephilim among us. They are not simply spirits, they are beings of flesh and blood. Could you pick one out from a line up? These are not just ordinary demons, you cannot cast the demon out of them, because they are the demon. They are in positions of power and leadership in government, economics and religion. There is no point in trying to determine just who they are, they look just like everyone else. No point in conspiracy theories about who is one of these Nephilim, they are simply there, behind the scenes.
